Description
This triangular point exhibits a medium to large size, characterized by a contracting stem and an elliptical cross-sectional profile. The blade morphology is notable for its diversity, ranging from examples with tips that curve inward, accompanied by parallel sides, to those that display incurvate or recurvate shapes, often resulting from extensive re-sharpening. However, the predominant blade form is excurvate. The shoulder morphology also exhibits significant variability, spanning from barbed to angled configurations, with the degree of re-sharpening influencing the shoulder shape. The stem tapers to a base that is either convex or pointed. The flaking pattern observed on this point is random, lacking a discernible order or orientation.
Size
The dimensions of the arrowheads are as follows: they range in overall length from 32 to 131 mm, with stem lengths varying between 10 and 25 mm. The width of the blade spans from 12 to 38 mm, while the stem width at the shoulders measures between 8 and 25 mm. In terms of thickness, the arrowheads are between 8 and 11 mm.
Distribution
This type is mainly located in the middle seaside area and mountain ranges of California. These specimens are often clustered in the upper areas of this range. These specimens are discovered southeast into San Diego County with lessening regularity
