Description

This triangular point measures between 2.5 and 4 inches in length, exhibiting an elliptical cross-sectional profile, with a median ridge cross section being a less common occurrence. The blade's curvature is predominantly excurvate, although some specimens may display an outward recurvate shape. The shoulders are typically oriented horizontally, but can also be barbed in configuration. The stem's morphology varies from straight to slightly expanding, and is generally shorter in comparison to other Benton points. The base of the point can exhibit a range of shapes, including concave, bifurcated, or auriculate forms. In terms of flaking patterns, a random arrangement is most prevalent, although some points with a median ridge may display collateral flaking.

The arrowheads exhibit the following dimensional characteristics: their overall length ranges from 61 to 104 mm, with a mean length of 82 mm. The stem portion measures between 10 and 12 mm in length, averaging 11 mm. The blade width varies from 27 to 36 mm, with an average width of 30 mm. The stem width ranges from 17 to 23 mm, averaging 19 mm. In terms of thickness, the arrowheads measure between 9 and 12 mm.

This point is mainly located in the Tennessee River basin and extends into the central to northern Ohio River basin
