Description

This triangular side-notched point exhibits a distinctive elliptical profile, with a blade that sweeps outward in a pronounced excurvate curve before recurving inward toward the shoulders. The notching pattern is characterized by wide, shallow parallel notches that initiate low on the blade, defining a shoulder that rises at an acute angle and merges with an expanding stem. The notch removal process often truncates the corner of the preform, narrowing the stem and imparting a distinctive "fishtail" morphology. The basal edge varies in shape, ranging from straight to subtly concave or convex. The flaking pattern on this point is random, lacking a discernible order or orientation.
