Description
This artifact exhibits a slender, ovoid morphology, characterized by a compressed cross-sectional profile. The blade's curvature is distinctive, displaying an excurvate shape that converges at the apex and then recurves towards the base. A notable feature of this point type is the frequent presence of serrations along the blade's edge. The basal margin varies in shape, ranging from a straight alignment to a gently convex outline. The flaking pattern observed on this specimen is random, lacking a discernible or systematic arrangement of flake scars.
Size
The arrowheads exhibit a range of dimensions, with overall lengths spanning 11 to 32 millimeters, widths varying from 6 to 15 millimeters, and an average thickness of 4 millimeters.
Distribution
This type is distributed across the Great Basin, Colorado Plateau, the Southwest Region and California. Occurrences have been documented in northern Baja California and northwestern Mexico
