Description
This artifact exhibits a distinctive lanceolate to triangular morphology, characterized by a contracting stem and an elliptical profile. The blade itself is marked by an excurvate curvature. Notably, the shoulders are either faint or entirely absent, and when present, are positioned at an elevated inclination. The stem is elongated, wide, and tapering, terminating in a convex base. Significant evidence of grinding is observable at the base and in the hafting area, suggesting substantial preparation for attachment. The flaking pattern on this specimen is randomized, lacking a discernible order or sequence.
Size
The arrowheads exhibit the following dimensions: their overall length ranges from 100 to 130 mm, while the stem length varies between 30 and 40 mm. The blade width measures between 32 and 41 mm, as determined from a limited sample set.
Distribution
This specimen was documented at the K1 cave and Gaadu Din 2 Cave in Alaska. It occurs in southern Alaska, extending into northwest Yukon and northwest British Columbia. The complete range remains uncertain
