Description

Decorated white ware with fine black mineral paint on polished white slip. Motifs include spirals, stepped patterns, negative motifs, and well-balanced hachure panels.

Size

Bowls 18–28 cm in diameter; jars 25–38 cm tall. Bowls often have deep profiles.

Distribution

Centered in the Tularosa Basin and nearby New Mexico highlands, spreading into Arizona’s White Mountains.
