Description

Late buff ware made by Piman groups living in former Hohokam regions. Designs resemble late Hohokam styles but are typically looser, less symmetrical, and less densely arranged. Red paint is often less consistent, and vessel shapes may show different rim profiles.

Size

Bowls 18–28 cm wide; jars 22–35 cm tall.

Distribution

Southern and central Arizona, especially in Gila River and Santa Cruz River basins.
